Anyone thinking of getting out this weekend? With stable warmer temps, I do believe this might be the first good weekend. Anyone going out? If so, where you heading?

Heading out on the Minnesota this weekend. First weekend in the boat. Pretty GD stoked about it, too!

Heading out somewhere local one night. Going to try to get the boat out too but will see, nothing else some worms are going to find some shoreline.

The Minnesota is a different animal. Think we’ll have a good mix of cut bait, stink bait, and crawlers going.

1st difference is there is no GPS maps for the citidiots

I have a bunch of work to do on my boat, easter weekend it’ll be ready for the MN River. Hopefully i don’t wreck anything because the following weekend it’ll be on the Rainy.

Saw on the USGS site that the MN at Mankato has gone over 50 degrees. This gives me lots of hope for this weekend.

I will be out on the Croix Friday night/ Saturday morning. Called windmill marina, they said no launch fee and river is open with some ice north and south.

It’s always open at windmill…unless the North ice gives way and drifts down stream to the south ice.

I was coming over the I 94 bridge today and there were a number of icebergs floating down the Hudson channel with gray ice in the Bayport basin. At least there the neck down at the train bridge will protect a person and their boat if the large sheet breaks free.

Either way. I’m glad you guys are getting out on the water!

Legally speaking, it’s pretty hard if not impossible to do.

Patience and a long dip net….or do they limit a dip net length too?

I just put a Humminbird 998c hd si on the boat, and told the wife that I will catch WAY more fish. She’s wondering why I don’t come home with fish…..

Also I was seeing large arches at 85ft where it starts to come up fast. Is this Sturgeon?

I would guess so. We’ve had some pretty good fishing in that area some years.
