’14 MN DNR Roundtable and cast nets

    Thinking of a seine for bait collection…

    “A 25′ long seine can really only be used along a shore line whereas a cast net can be used in deeper water.”

    That’s the reason I was given a few years back although there are some “holes” in that comment.

    From what I understand, cast net mortality is higher than seine nets. I believe this is why cast nets are not allowed?

    Sure is with shad. Not so sure with other fish.

    Shad die by looking at them.
