So I tried fishing the Boomsite landing yesterday evening with no luck from 6pm-12am. But with my new smartphone (which may not have been a financially smart idea to get), I was able to find out about the two largest sturgeon species. The Kaluga sturgeon of the Amur River system in North China/East Russia, and the slightly larger Beluga sturgeon of the Black and Caspian Seas. I can not believe how gargantuan these beasts can get!
Kaluga
-Max size: about 2,200lb and 18.5ft long!
-Predatory fish with nail like teeth.
-Feeds on salmon and other fish by hunting and chasing them.

Beluga
-Largest of the entire 25 sturgeon species on the planet.
-Max size: largest recorded capture (1827), a 24ft long 3,463lb female, but can potentially get to 26ft long and over 7000lb! (no wonder it shares its name with a whale)
-Does not have teeth, but still an active hunting predator.
-Large Beluga ingest waterfowl, as well as fish and seal pups up to 40 pounds! (so we use trophy lake sturgeon for bait?..joking)
