    Water temps down and water levels stable, the bite is good.Cut sucker and gold eye out in the main channel in the current.

    The carp are hot right now.

    Most of the fish down here are fatter behind the pectoral fins than the head. They don’t have to fight current here so they expend less energy and carry more weight. This 33 incher from last weekend had a 21.5 inch girth. It would have scored in the tourney for me had I caught it.

    OK makes sense.
    a lot of the channels I’ve caught here appear to have very large heads.

    Down here the guys I fish with and I think those are males, especially the ones with a bluer tint.
