Played hooky from work today to hit the Croix for sturgeon. We got a few sturgeon, nothing huge. A nice channel cat, a redhorse, some drum and even a rock bass. Fishing was slow, but the weather was beautiful. One of the sturgeon was missing most of its nose..

Wonder what happened to that sturgeon? That’s really odd!

You know what they say, a slow day of fishing is better then a bird in the bush!

Looks like a mutation to me. Either that or a walleye guy punched it in the nose as a fry.

I was thinking maybe it was damaged by fishing line or something when it was young and just healed up strangely?

You’d have a better idea. It is hard to tell from the picture.
