Doesn’t Strugeon season start in just a couple of days? Haven’t heard a word about it.

I’ve got my one and only trip all lined up. Aint til the end of September so I will be plenty primed up for it. I want to see lots of reports and pictures.

I was ready to disagree with you Brian but I just checked the WIDNR website and sure enough lake sturgeon season is Sep 7 to 30. I could have sworn it was the entire month of September. I guess we’ve got to make those three weeks count.

Question for you WI guys. Is the two week C&R on inland waters or just the the St Croix?

Good question Brian. I had to check the WDNR web site again to be sure and the 15 day catch and release season is just on the St. Croix. But Is there any reason why a person can’t go out flathead fishing with nightcrawlers and possibly catch and release some of those pesky sturgeon trying to steal your flathead bait?

Oh and Jeff (Mudshark) you’re always welcome to come over here and fish with me. Maybe we could plan an outing on the Wisconsin River this month.

That’s one of the reasons MN and WI is looking seriously at opening the C&R season all year for Lake Sturgeon on it’s border waters.

As long as the Humans handling them are careful, catching and releasing them doesn’t hurt them.

Someone please remind me what time the fees at the Bayport marina go from $10 to $20. I’m having a brain fart.

Does Bayport have a public ramp? I thought it was Beach House? Then again, I might be wrong as I haven’t launched up that way in years.

I think they do, but it’s not secure. I’m talking about the marina in Anderson Bay. The one by the railroad tracks and the park.

That’s why I was confused! Bayport Marina vs. Bayport, MN.

Anybody know if most of the tuna boats have cleared out yet?

If anyone is in the market for an affordable and reliable boat that’s set-up for sturgeon (and cat) fishing (i.e. solid rod holders), I’ve got one in the classifieds. I’ll throw even throw in a 72″ ruler, Waterspike anchor, and huge Beckmann net if the price is right!

Don’t let the short St. Croix Sturgeon season pass you by!

My boat in the IDO classifieds.
