Fish Any Time and his son Fish All The Time gave me a mulligan tonight.

We didn’t do well the first time out 2 or so weeks ago even though they didn’t have a banana in the boat. One little 5 ish pound flat. We had our make up game tonight.

I was encouraged by the slower flow last night and when I saw the rollers down on Dam #3 tonight, I had a little butterfly in my tummy.

In arriving at our first snag and looking over the current I actually got goose bumps. Literally. It was perfect conditions for the flats to be moving inside the river banks. Yeah, the water was a bit high but it wasn’t on a tear.

Pretty quiet until dark although Tyler picked up on two fawns on shoreline. I only caught a glimpse but they were pretty young.

Water temp was 79 and a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l evening to be on the river. The breeze and ThermoCell kept the bugs at bay. Just the type of night cat guys wait all year for.

Didn’t look like the fish have spawned at this time at least from the 6 we boated tonight.

Tyler landed his fish like an old pro and helped his dad land a couple too.

Thanks guys for helping me get the cat smell back into the boat and getting rid of the smell of the skunk!!

Nice pics even if it is cats I agree the bite for all species should be easier to target with things getting back to normal patterns.
