Well picked up my first batch of stink for cattin yesterday and went with Sudden Impact bc that was the only thing on Cabela’s shelf. Stuff worked fantastic b4 the rains came through and kind of shut it down for me the rest of night. But the question is with the flow going good right now I would have to redip my treble about every 3-4 min. I saw a video from Team Catfish saying you can just add oil or flour to make Secret 7 however you want. Is this true for Sudden Impact and would it be worth the trouble of making it real thick and a lil more to deal with baiting, but in the end more longevity in the water? Also thinking of getting some tubes or making my own with circles. Hate digging in a cats mouth trying to get a treble out.

    Couple things…

Squeeze down the barbs on the 6/0 trebles. Makes removal easy cheesy unless it’s a very small cat.

Sudden Impact is a fiber bait. As long as there’s a few strands of fiber on the hook, you’ll catch fish. So there’s no need to add oil or flour to Sudden Impact.

Folks sure can “gob” it on, and the manufacturers love it when we do. $$

I’ve been working on my 1 gallon tub of SI for just over 2 years now. Granted when the flats start in I don’t use much SI, but my point is that very very little goes a long ways.

BK do you really use #6/0 trebles? Those are snagging hooks here…

I thought maybe you put 1/2 tub on a 6/0 and dropped it next to the boat for a chum line.

Only if you could convince the DNR it is not an additional line.
