    Made it out this morning with a pal. Launched out of Boom Island and went upstream. We only got 3 channels on stink bait and missed a few more. Fish were coming in 7-9′ water on sandy flats. Current is really strong up there now.

    Not fast and furious action, but it was a nice morning with good views of the skyline.

    The farthest blue pole on boom island there usually holds a few channels by it for me lately. And drag a jig along that wall the whole way out will get you a smallie/northern almost every time. That’s a pretty part of the river for sure and the rumors going around that they are gonna turn that whole section into a green way. Wouldn’t have anything to do with why they throw out the possibilities of shutting down that lock.

    Most NE folk cried a lil bit when that bridge reopened.
