blood sucking cats

    I would imagine these guys are pretty common, but wondering how many you typically see on your average catch? In winter the channels would just be covered in them, easy 10-20 on each fin, not so much in summer now. Curious to what some others are seeing in their home waters.

    I see those all the time. Just little leeches. They don’t hurt the fish

    One place I used to fish had those and they were always on the fins and inside the gills of the fish. I never really thought of it as a bad thing. They are some kind of parasite, maybe leech?

    I once saw a giant leech in a lake at Park Rapids. And I mean giant. When I tried to grab it the body was completely mushy. Pretty interesting.

    I see them a lot on river fish… not so much on lake fish though.
