Ol’ Tim the Catfish Tree Miller and I spent about an hour and a half stinking up P4 tonight.

Monday when I was out I spied a current seam coming off an inside bend. We motored to that spot tonight and never moved.

Three rods were set up with Sudden Impact using 6/0 Team Catfish trebles and one rod was alternated with Sonny’s and Secret 7 with a tube and a 3/0 Double Action hook. All three baits took fish tonight.

The water is dropping noticeably each day and the HDS unit was talking 60 degrees at 9 pm tonight. I’m predicting the dam rollers to be dropped back in the water on Friday or Saturday this weekend.

That should help the walleye bite as well. Normally this is about the time the trolling bite starts up on the Bay City Flats, but I haven’t been down that way for sometime.

With two reports with photo’s of flats taking crank baits today, it’s about time to start soaking suckers and bullheads for this years flathead bite.

It can’t start too early can it?!

Do you use the whole tub for one bait?

Be sure to note that this picture was taken AFTER Tim had prepared the fish for the table.

I was thinking of getting a 4th, but Tim said to see it the photo would have to be a profile shot.

My fishing partner, er, nephew texted me a picture of him holding a bass (caught while fishing for crappies) on Mtka with the words, Minnetonka. I texted back a picture of me flipping the bird at him with the text, My Backyard.

How deep were those kitties holding on the seam? Can’t wait to get the boat out this weekend and let the kids have at it.

Our baits were in 7 to 9 fow. We were getting smacked from the slack water well into the fast water.

The flow has slowed noticeably over the last few days.

Sauger guru Kerry Harvey and I chased flatheads around last night until about 11 pm before tossing in the towel and going after the tug tug of channel cats.

Here’s some of the photos from last night.

Thanks for letting me catch a couple Kerry!
