    Not much of a story behind it. It is what it is. My nephew happened to be filming me with his new GoPro while I was bring in the little guy.

    The one thing to note is the little guy was splashing at the surface, fighting me the whole time. Sturgeon are supposedly curious. Could it be this one was attracted to the splashing? Only she knows for sure.

    I think you may have just recorded 1 piece to the jumping sturgeon puzzle. It is interesting that the fish extends its mouth, maybe taking in some air? COOL!!

    I thought about that mouth popping down. However then I thought of many reasons it might have done that. Maybe clearing sand from the gills. Maybe just a reflex. Maybe just random.

    I always thought sturgeon looked like sharks. I Googled it and I don’t think they are even distant relatives.
