Hello Everyone! Just wanted to give you an update on Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River in Baudette, MN. The season opens up April 24th, 2013-May 7th, 2013 and then opens up again July 1st-September 30th. As you know the Wheelers Point access is not open yet but there are other landings that are open to all boats. Vidas, Frontier and Birchdale are completely open. Timber Mill Park (which is located right on the east side of Baudette on Highway 11) should be open within a few days it still had some shore ice the other day. The river is open to the west of the Airport road as of yesterday (Sunday the 14th). My husband usually fishes for sturgeon closer to town than by the lake and has done pretty good the last couple of years.
