Watching the river everyday

With the snow we’ve gotten the last few weeks and now the rain, its been raining most of the night, I’ve been watching the river rise from winter lows. Its came up about a foot and its a very welcome site. All the exposed rocks that you could see are now covered with about 12″ of water and theres more water coming over the dam.

I hope we have decent water this spawning time when the channels go to spawn. But alas I”ve heard from two diffrent sources its suppose to be a dry year again, hopefully not as dry as last.

Heard anything about what the water levels might be in your neck of the woods this spring?

Lets hope for a nice normal amount of rain fall this summer.I was shocked at how low the Cedar was last month when I was down to Waterloo area.
I should make a trip down and get out and run some bank lines this summer.

Give me a jingle Stuart and we’ll get together and go, we’ll run some dittypoles too, I’ve got a new product to test out, be nice to have you in the boat at the same time for your input to see how they work. You’ve fished catfish most your life and you would know, Thier going to be killer around logjams fishing for flatheads and channels, message me if you come and we’ll go. I could come up there or meet halfway, it doesn’t matter but message me if you come down.

Have an ailing sister that lives in CR and I need to get down and see her around flower bloom time.Would like to squeeze in a night or two on the Cedar.Thank you for the offer.

The ice went out last night or early this morning and the rivers come up 2 1/2 too 3′ in a couple days. Theres an ice dam by where I get my firewood from the island in the center of the river to the bank, ice is stacked pretty high, 5 or 6 blocks or chunks high It won’t be long now, message me when your coming down Stuart.
