Brian I love your new avatar but I can’t figure out if it’s a strip of bacon or a beach towel??????

Keep that beach towel wrapped firmly around your waist. We all know what the odds are of a pink speedo. Or worse.

It was chilly. Usually in low 20’s when we got off the water. Got hard to cast when all the line is frozen in the reel. Thursday night drove 35-40 MPH to get there but well worth it

I believe this was my biggest at 56×20. The nephew will post his 56×30. We didn’t break 60, but most were between 51-56. Wish we got 60, but i can’t complain. Out was beautiful except the wind Saturday made conditions tough. Found a couple coming buddies at the bar who watched the Wild win with me.

Well, the Minnesota isn’t the Rainy and these shovelnose are definitely not a 60″ laker, but they were fun this afternoon. I landed 4 in about 3 hours and lost a couple more on snags. The biggest was only 2.5 lbs, but they took some work to get them off the bottom in fast current. The best part was the guy in the boat that tied off to shore 20 yds. up stream from me. Poor guy was pitching jigs for 2 hours with out a bite. He got frustrated and went home. I stayed a bit longer and caught another sturgeon.

You don’t need BK to catch spade-heads. Fall on P4 is ripe for mudpuppies and shovelnoses.

No need to wait until fall.

I take the FW out over July 4th and they are snapping pretty good.

Make sure you know what the record is. There is a good chance of catching a state record down there. I would have to check again, but it’s under 6 pounds I believe.

Doesn’t the guide get credit? Oh wait. That might have been the spot he chose after we got into it over figuring out where to park.

I am definitely a backseat boater. I am very particular about finding a spot on the graph and setting up perfectly to fish it. He just would rather choose a random spot.
