If a guy was going to target an eel?

Where would a person fish this time of year?

    Minnows or crawlers?

    Shallow or deep?

I’ve only had one next to my boat and it came from about 18 feet of water.

Looking for a little help from my slimy friends.

Eel portal must be opened and it is kept quiet where the eel catchers catch them. Also must fish during eel witching hours. Right?

    We’re open to PM’s.

Catch photo release without back ground. I’ll need someone along to hold it for me though.

    Time is not a problem.

    Next year I guess.

caught one on peterson lake from my parents dock when i was little. it was huge and after some research im pretty sure it would of been a state record but its just a fish story now. i caught it on a night crawler bottom fishing. P.S. im with you BK if i were to land one again somebody else would have to hold it, way to much like a snake!!

This is going to take some (many) hours of dedication next year for this dude!
I’ve got some ideas of where to start but I tell ya, the weather today keeps whispering in my ear “coley… The eels are waiting for your crawlers…. Act now”

If I catch one. Ooooooooo. Drinks are on me!

Ok so I cannot eel hunt today. But… Let me ask some more-than-likely embarrassing questions:

    1. Can you noodle an eel?
    2. Is it possible that just maybe, since that global warming crap is all over the Internets that they may be hibernating a little bit later in the year?
    3. If SOMEONE had an underwater camera…. …. Could one see a sleeping slimer down below?

Dang how I wish I was fishing and not typing about it today.

I haven’t a clue on the first two, but I’ve had the camera down in many areas of the river >in the winter< and I haven’t seen a eel. ‘Course I don’t know what they look like under mud either.

But rest assured, if I knew where they hibernate I would wait topside in the boat while you noodled one.

Never thought I’d see the day a guy would get territorial over an eel spot.

I have to admit, I chuckled too. After thinking about it, they are threatened and there are some folks that really like eating them. Lastly, this is the interweb.

Probably best talked about using secret decoder rings.

    Damn Straight!

Not that I do not share spots but open forum is no the place. They are bait swallowers.

Many shore spots are disappearing and that is part of why I am a little touchy about spots that are small being advertised. I typically do not complain online about trash and such I just clean it up if I can.

Plus you two already know the kind of nut I am so are you really surprised?

Want some walleye spots? No problem (to my friends) the state stocks so many anyways. Shhh I do like to fish them at times of the year.

After that walleye comment I’ve moved you to certifiably NUTS!

People that really want to target them will figure it out. Others will just hope and pry they never meet one eye to eye.

I checked the MN DNR site with a search and there wasn’t a reference to them. Of course that doesn’t mean there isn’t any.

Wonder if Herb has any down his way?

Well, if there’s one out there, I’m sure you’ll catch it.
