That’s it for Sturgeon Reports?

I figured there would be more reports (good or bad) then we had?

‘Course folks could be waiting for less traffic then we had last weekend and cooler temps.

We made it out to pool four looking for cats.

Ended up with 1 channel, two flats, two or three sheepies and one big lake sturgeon.

    Channels on stink bait.
Flats, sheepies and sturgeon on crawlers.

Went out at 5 and came in by 8 pm.

I was thinking the same thing. Conditions were pretty horrible during the day on Sunday. 10MPH steady SE wind and boat traffic had the Croix whipped up pretty good. Our bites were almost undetectable (except the one channel cat that bounced the rod pretty good).

Joe’s 45″ took off toward the front of the boat and almost ended up in the anchor line. I think I have another St. Croix trip in me yet this year, probably early October.

We boated 3 last night. Biggest was 47″. Fished north of all the boats in bayport and maybe had 1 boat go by the whole time which was nIce.

Yeah, the fishing will get better with less traffic and cooler water. The wind is one of the reasons I go out in the evening…well that and less traffic.

Does anyone know how to stretch a photo? I want to make Steve’s sturgeon at least 12 inches long.

Hey Matt, were the fish shallower up that way? I caught 2 dinky lakers up in that stretch Sunday morning, both in about 18 FOW. That’s also about the depth our 45″ came from.

I have been out every night since opener.

Friday – skunked (one small flat, couple of sheeps)

Saturday – skunked (one 26″ channel)

Sunday – Fished much deeper (baits in 45′-50′) and found two sturgies, 41″ and 39″

Monday – went back to skunkville (31″ channel)

Tuesday – taking 1-2 weeks off until the temps drop and the sturgies become more active

    That’s my report

It’s shallow travels in some areas up there so the big boats are scared to go up there. 2 of the few boats that drove by lost some good portions of there prop when they tried going around me on the wrong side haha.

If you have MS picture manager on your PC you can adjust the pixel width to make it look at least 13″ but I don’t know if you can make it looker bigger than that.

I’m not sure that got the desired results Mike.
