Looking forward to hearing a report from up that way. We launched out of Franconia yesterday and had fun swimming around there. Caught a few small mouth and red horse.

Have only hooked into a couple of bigger sturgeon up that way. One was right out in front of Franconia landing. Have caught lots of smaller sturgeon on the wingdam across from the point where the trout creel comes in. Most seem to hang right on the tip with the most current.

Atleast up that way you dont need to worry about getting run over by a tuna boat.

Same here. I think I’m going to go blast some honkers this weekend and save sturgeon until next weekend.

I went and chased cats the last two fridays out there and ended up with a couple unintentional sturgeon the one day. Not much to worry about much for boat traffic. Water is plenty low.

Heading out Sunday morning to hit the Croix for sturgeon. Dbright – how deep of water did you catch sturgeon in? Just wondering how this wonky warm weather has positioned them.

Typically i find them deeper the first few weeks of the season but the couple i ran across were in one of my cat spots between 9 11 fow with lots of wood

If anyone is looking to fill a seat on the lower end of the croix the weekend of the 15th of September I’d be willing to bring them out up river in my boat another night. I’m working out of state so my season will be limited.
