With my catfishing taking a backseat to family time, I am way out of the loop. My brother is in town from Oregon and I want to get him out and break his virginity and try to scare up a flathead. Everts only has smaller than 4″ bullheads and small suckers. Being a MN guy I can’t use sunfish.

What does a guy do? Any other pool 4 options? Any solid advise for now?

    Thanks guys!

    That’s what I would do.

Head down to the rock bar at Everts, slip bobber jig and crawler 2 ft down along shore. Bait galore

I would agree on whats been posted, large suckers, gills if you run the Wisconsin side, and I would also suggest that some of the boys fishing the Minnesota have been getting em on cut bait as of late. Good luck!

Just got back in. Had a few nice channels early with the biggest about 28″. They both hit live bait, one on a sucker and another on a 6″ bully. Had a few runs we could not capitalize on, and one that popped out after a couple seconds.

A beautiful night on the water even with no flats boated. I’m starting to remember why I like fishing for these dumb fish
