It was a tough channel bit on Saturday. Even the guys that fish channel cats exclusively where saying is was the hardest day this year. They noticed when cleaning the cats their stomachs were empty.
Matt, his dad David and friend Doug where watching three of the four rods twitching from pecks without a fish being caught. Remembering what old man Sonny told me a number of years ago “if you don’t get a bite in 10 minutes or just get pecks….move”. So that’s what we did!
Matt’s group was looking for eater type channels with the largest being 8 pounds.
Matt’s big fish of the day came in after a nice rod wetting run under the boat, at just over 7 pounds.
