My puter only loads posts till about June 1.
I live out in the boonies and my internet provider
is Fred Flinstone so it could just be on my end.

Any way I got a couple on July 13.

A 35 and a 45 pound flathead. The 35 was caught on an Abu
6500 loaded with 20# big game with a 1/0 hook! That outfit
was casted out with a little piece of cut bluegill for channel cats.

On July 27 I finally got a fish equal to the size I target.
56 pounds of mature female flathead.

All fish were released to grow, spawn, and fight again.

Nice flatheads! I see in the second picture that the fish spit up your bait.Looks like you could use it again.

I’m not sure if the thread is full, I’m just glad to see Fred is running a successful business after being type-cast in Hollywood all of these years.

    Stuart

I fished alone and that little ankle biter belonged to a neighbor lady I called to come and take pictures. If I took a dog that size fishing with me the racoons would be playing pitch and catch with it before dark

I don’t know about sexy but I often put “Dancin with fat girls” in my title lines when posting trophy female flathead

Brian, I worry about you. What does the FW think about that? Catfish sexy? Wow.

Hey…I didn’t start this whole “sexy” thing. I can’t take credit for that.

But, it wasn’t too long ago when she whispered in my ear…I think your catfish’s sexy…

I think it was the basis for a country western song a few years back, but they changed a word or two for copyright issues.

Aug 3 2012 I got some more flathead practice on this little female.

This little 32 pound female did not have
a scar or bruise on her. She was fat as a butterball
    and smelled like crushed shad.

I released her and hope to see her again in 4 or 5 years.

Kenney Cheseney, She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.

Dunno about your tractor or your catfish (I’m not sure I’d take that as a compliment, BK ), but the flatties at the top of this post ARE way crazy sexy. Wow.

That’s the size I need to catch to top my own PB for flathead. Can’t wait!

Yup, would have been able to retire by now if she would have pursued royalties!

Always enjoyed seeing Robbies photos over the years!

Nice fish Robby and I know what your saying, when thier hitting thier hitting. You sound like a friend of mine that lives north of me and has to go up to Chicken Ridge, a near by high hill, just to call me, hey there isn’t anything wrong with that. Nice fish!!!and I wish we had some water around here so we could do the same, its bone dry here and has been since spring, waters 4′ down below what it usually is.

    pounds he was a handful.

    I released him after photos.

    Moose
That fish had an attitude and slapped me at each attempt to handle him. Not sure about him but I am pretty sore.

We didn’t waste much time parting ways.

    Hey Kat,

I see the pics are in daylight. Are you catching these monsters during the day? Morning or eve?

    BTW…congrats, those are real bruts!

Robby only fishes during the daylight. Almost every pic I’ve seen from his is a daylight beast. Some say that in Ohio, at night, you can’t catch anything but a glimpse of sasquatch.

Makes me want to retire so I don’t have to do the office gig 9-5.

Edit: Just kidding. I know he catches a lot (if not most) of his fish in the dark. He just keeps them in a decoy bag until daylight so he can get better pics of them. I’m guessing he has some daytime fish too, have to wait to hear back from him to get specifics.

I thought he posted here many moons ago that he caught them at night and held them until morning for photos and the release?

Well, I don’t have time to look and he’ll be back to clarify.

Either way, it sure would be nice to have that many fish that size around here.

BK, I edited my post just before you posted apparently. Yeah, I was just messin around, seeing what Robby would say about my sasquatch thing…but then I figured it might be a whole day before we hear back from him, since he’s likely out catching more hogs as we speak, so I edited it to reflect what I believe to be the truth

I do catch most of my flathead at night. I bridle them till morning for better pictures.

    Flathead bridle

If I get one in any kind of light I attempt to get videos of the fight but it doesn’t happen often.

60+ flatheads are extremely rare here. I am really proud when I get one.
