Hey Kevin – I did manage a King of the Cats channel cat upgrade tonight – it was only 1/2 a KOTC point but sometimes that 1/2 inch can be the last little bit for the Crown. Looks like the channels are post spawn and hungry. Catch me if you can

Beautiful night – I also picked up a big Flathead upgrade that jumped me pretty good on the Flathead board. She measured out at 43 X 28 for 71 points. I need a couple more good flatheads to get in contention on the Flathead board. I’m after them now. Cats all look post spawn and hungry – should be good fishing for a while.

Steve might have just about the most comfy looking fishing setup ever. Nice upgrades!

I’ve had the privilege a few times. It is awesome. And the thing is Steve is hands on and likes to do most of the work. He’s quite the host.

    Yes, I am kissing butt.

Oops, sorry, Kev. I was wrong – that wasn’t a channel cat upgrade that I caught last night – Too small. I guess I’ll have to get one tonight.

On a side note, how is the Terrova and I-Pilot working out for you on the Tooner?

The I-Pilot is one of life’s greatest inventions. I do a lot of slow trolling for cats and it is slick. When you get a nice fish just Spot Lock and deal with the fish. Then just pick up right where you left off. I love my I-Pilot.

A cat guy with a fancy boat, expensive gear, Ipilot, and probably a big side scanner who can fish every night is only beating me by 9 inches and I’ve been out 8 times this summer. Friday is looking pretty good. I’d be logging in early on Saturday to read the bad news Steve.

To some, 9 inches is a lot and to do it from the comfort of the captains chair Don’t be hating Kev

I’m not hating. Steve is one of the best fisherman I know. Just a little friendly banter. It will be darn hard to catch him. I’d have to catch a couple of 35 inchers to do it. Thing is I left a good bite on Saturday and my intuition is telling me this is going to be a magnificent weekend. I have a start point which is 70 percent of the battle here. I have a 9-5 job and a couple kids to care for so I can only fish only so often and if the weather permits. I still love my kids more than fishing. A friendly bragging rights contest has greatly improved my spirits. The guy in first is hanging unbelievable fish. He won last year and will win again this year.

Well I got one of them last night but I don’t know if it will be accepted or not because my camera guy got too close on the tape shot and you can’t see the tape. You can see the matting though and I provided another shot for reference that shows the mat and the tape. 34.5 x 20 and another fish that we caught last week that had a tattoo.

54.5 KOTC points. Nice fish, Kev.

I better start channel cat fishing again. Nice weather forecasted for tonight. I better try to upgrade – I can see you coming.
