Lower Wisconsin River Flatheads

I fish the lower Wisconsin River fairly regularly for channel cats but the last time out we landed a few smaller (~5 lbs.) flatheads. So my buddy and I are thinking about trying to target flatheads one of the next times we go out. Wondering if anyone can give me any tips on what type of structure/spots we should be targeting. Was planning on bringing some musky sized suckers and using whatever else we can catch on crawlers for bait (Not aware of anywhere local that I can get bullheads). Last time out I found a nice hole 13′ deep on the main channel right off a sand bar break with a 6-7′ deep slack water on the opposite side of the sand bar point. Is this an area I should give a shot? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There’s a few guys on here that fish that area and should be able to give you a hand.

The location you mentioned should be good and if not for flats…channels for sure.

The old wives tail that I haven’t heard for a few years was to toss a crawler into a hole, if you don’t catch any “little” fish, there’s a flathead around.

    Hey! It sounds good.
