    Pug,

I would be willing to represent you in this manner, for a slight fee, of 50% of the take.

OH!;”He#*,” I’d pay just about anything to see you two in the same boat.

I’ll film our next outing. I just need to trick him into thinking I already have plans so he will ask me if I want to go out fishing.

Justin, I used the 10/0 TC Super J’s last year. I felt they were too heavy for the bullheads and suckers (I use).

This year I’m using the 8/0’s and they seem just right.

Hey Brian, how small do they make them? Thinking that design may be good with stink bait tube worms as well if they made 3/0 or 4/0.

6/0 was the smallest I’ve seen.

My 2 cents for flathead hooks.

Bigger is better (don’t get weight confused with bigger).
Flats have a large mouth and using a bigger hook helps tip the odds of a hookup in your favor.

Now before I get ripped apart, I know many many flats have been caught with #2 walleye size hooks.

I had been fishing the Gama Big River hooks and really liked them for large size bullheads, But at two dollars a piece they were a pita to loose in snags. I recently visited 4seasons in Red Wing and had Chris show me the TC super J’s little bit better hook, WAY WAY better price. Iirc they had them at about a buck a piece. Pretty good deal.

I’ve used both the Gami Big River hook and the Team Catfish Super J. I’m sold on the TCSJ, the Big River is really only good for 10″ bullies IMO. This is coming from a guy who swore off Team Catfish hooks a few years ago.

That’s because the TC hooks from a couple years ago were not good quality. I’ve used the new ones as well and they are much better. Sweet!!!

Anyone field test these? It’s hard to tell without trying whether a hook will be prone to foulhooking the bait.

I’m not a fan of heavy gauge hooks – hard to tell from the wall-sized photo what that gauge is like.

Matt, I used the 10/0’s last year. Too heavy for the size bullies/suckers we’re using.

I switched up to the 8/0 this year and so far no foul hooking the bait. But then I hook the bait diagonally through the back which helps eliminate that problem in the first place.

We’ve hooked a few in the teens and a couple in the twenties …then Ryans.
