Not much going on for flats in the area we tried last night, but Pete hooked his personal best on the Sudden Impact fiber bait rod we had out.

On a side note, we were very careful coming in around 1:30 this morning looking for wood. Never saw any. However since this is the highest water since last spring, we’ll be watching closely the next few nights out too.

I was very surprised to see the same on pool 2 last night, High water and not a single piece of floating wood to swerve around. Clarity is as muddy as it gets up this way too, get used to it untill the MN river slows to a trickle around christmas

I went exploring yesterday. The legendary spot was ok but not great. I got setup for an hour and the gusting North wind started hitting me in the face and I realized there was poison ivy between my ankles so I cut the trip short.

Fished the Minnesota today, found some pike early on in the afternoon as they were chasing bait off the main channel. Had a few nibblers could have been walleyes early in the evening before dark and then another run and miss at 11.

Quite a bit of flow obviously, and lots of “navigational challenges”, but this is probably nothing new to most people.
