A little stink goes a long ways.

By cutting your dip bait tubes in half and placing your circle hook through the mid point of the tube, you’ll save on stink bait and globs of bait won’t be flying everywhere.

Do you always use a red hook with the tubes for channel cats?

BTW.. Nice looking channel cat rod

I’m not big on any particular color of hooks.

Yeah, I can’t get her to use anything else.

Team Catfish ships their red tubes with 2/0 red offset shank hooks. I have used a couple and they seem to work well. Otherwise I usually use 4/0 octopus J hooks.

    Missed those questions.

It’s a 3/0 Team Catfish Double Action. They work great for guiding. If a person likes to set the hook, go ahead. If not, the channels just hook themselves. Best of both worlds.

The line is 80 pound Team Catfish Tug O War. Over kill for channels, but not so much for sturgeon and the occasional flat that nabs cut bait.

I’m using 20 pound Electric Lime on two of my Channel rods now. I love mono…if it doesn’t get hung up.
