    That’s funny right there!

What’s the bait going to be this weekend?

    Bullies
    Suckers
    Creek Chubs
    Sunfish (that’s for Flathead WI)

Anyone using cut bait in conjunction with live?

Are you going to focus totally on flats or have a rod out for channels as well?

It’s the FW’s birthday this Saturday and then my daughters Mothers Mothers Day on Sunday. I think I’m baking a cake and the closest I’ll get to a bullhead is changing the tank water.

If I can catch some mooneye, I will definitely be putting some cut out. I’m hoping to be in that King of the Cats thing and I have to stumble across a danged channel somehow or another. And the flats don’t turn down cut mooneye either…

My nephew wants to start hitting the tributaries, and for that we may need bullheads (swifter current). So we may be making an extra trip or two in search of a tankful of those.

Upper lower Minnesota River between Mankato and New Ulm (secret). We’ll be loaded up with cutbait, bullies, 2 kinds of stink bait, possibly live suckers and chubs if I can catch them in the morning on the way down. Looks like stable weather and dropping water for the next few days going into the weekend. FISH ON!

Jesse missed more fish on Friday night than I personally caught all last year!

As I was packing up, he snuck a 15er in on me.

Wasn’t it just yesterday I asked if you wanted to go out last Sunday Pug and you turned me down?

Cat guys are going the same place us river walleye guys are going What’s an opener anyway—you mean a church key The only good part about the opener is that we get our river back and all the lake guys wander off until next Spring!

I’ll either hit the Croix somewhere above Stillwater, or maybe go try the upper Sippi again. Depends what the water level gauges on the USGS site say for various areas come Friday night or Saturday morning, whenever I get out.

I’ll be bringing crawlers, dipped, suckers, maybe some bullheads if I have some time to get to my spot for those this week, some uncooked shrimp and chicken livers… If I don’t find any channels this weekend, I’m going to come over and start chasing your guys’s flatties!

Hey Josh, throw that raw shrimp in a baggy and let it sit in the sun until Saturday. You won’t believe the smell off that stuff! I speak from experience.

Hrmm, will do! I have some sucker minnows doing the same right now, and oofda! Something tells me the kayaks going to need a hose down after this weekend, and the car might need some Febreeze!
