Just heard Scheels in Mankato is handling small (what some call walleye size ) and medium 6-7 inch bullies.

Kudo’s to the folks at Scheels for recognizing the cat fishing community!

Just curious as we do not have bullheads for sale down here, how much do they go for?

I’m not sure what Scheels is charging, but I’ve seen them anywhere from $1.25 to $1.75 each.

Pricey little devils. I bought redtails 1 fall up in the UP and paid 85 cents apiece. Thought that was pricey. Redtails were 6 to 8 inch.

Do we need to revisit the conversation of what fish eats what fish Mr BK?

Check out Winklers in Mankato. They are a bait wholesaler, but will sell to the public too! Much more reasonably priced. Swollen Goat will pop in here and give some prices.

There’s also the guy in St. Pete with the sign at the boat launch who sells them ‘by the pail’ and requires a couple days notice…

I don’t know what Scheels is selling them for. Might be .25 a truck load!

Fine, then at least full sized.

Personally I think people that don’t capture their own bait shouldn’t be allowed to fish flats.

Can I harvest some from your bait tank at Everts?

Normally I’d have 80 nice bulies and a dozen heavy suckers in the bait tank by now, but the feeder creeks barely have any water. Scheels salesmen always gave me the stink eye when I was looking for sinkers over 1 oz. Nice to hear they stock bullies, might check them out as a last resort. I wonder why the Bobber Shop doesn’t stock bullies?

Seriously, I think we had a few dozen in Joe’s bait tank by this time last year, but the creeks are too low this year. Maybe these storms will boost them up!

Too funny! When people as me what size a jig head is, I tell them if it’s not over an ounce I don’t have a clue AND why would you want to use it?

Mostly I don’t like their answer.

My favorite is when I tell them ” Walleye? Sure, they are fun… with an ultralight.” Or when I tell them how disappointed I was the time an 8.5 lb ‘eye ruined a perfectly good 10″ bullhead.

I don’t mind spending $1 a piece for bait that will last for weeks with minimum care.

You can never have enough pets!

I screwed up this past weekend. Found a mouse in a bucket in the garage. Instead of waiting and moving him to a nice new home some where far away, I let him go.

Winklers usually has awesome creek chubs also and the prices are very good the last time I bought from them from Cathy. Cool operation to check out also with all the holding tanks, etc.
