Steve McCoy, the guy with the 11lb tail hooked walleye, I know him. He lives in North Liberty and I’ve fished with him a bunch. I might have to give him a call and compliment him on his nice walleye.

Yeah the guy with the walleye needs to recalibrate his scale.

    Tasty drum?

Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. White, flaky flesh–they are quite good tasting.

    I won’t eat anything a catfish won’t eat.

I am sure they are decent. Considering it seems like every other one I catch goes belly up, maybe I should give it a try.

Thanks for the note — and clearly you’re correct!
I was biased by the dark hue and lack of spots, but the overbite should have been a dead giveaway, right? (as opposed to the underbite of a flathead)
I was also biased by the fact I had caught a small flathead earlier and was assuming they were on the bite — a silly assuption on the Mississippi.
But those are reasons, not excuses.
Thanks for poiting out the error and I’ll work up a correction.

Yeah, for me you do. Apparently I can be sarcastic, but I have to take everyone else literally. My bad.

Brian knows how gullible and literal I am. Usually when he emails me I have to reply asking him to explain what he is talking about.

This happens at least once a day to me and I am serious. I will say something to Michelle and she will reply, “What the hell are you talking about”. Then I will explain who or what was the subject of my statement and she’ll look at me and say, “You think it might have helped had you told me that”?

In real time I usually forget to set up my statements with context. Maybe that is why I post so much here. I can write, read, rewrite as many times as I like before anyone sees it. In real time I have usually thought about it my head and had a conversation with myself before speaking.

And I did just post and edit this 3 times.
