Don’t get me wrong, the weathers great and I’m getting “stuff” done now that would normally be done in April or even the first part of May…but damn, this is FISHING WEATHER by GUM!!

Sorry, little 70 degree cabin fever.

So get your butt out there!

Seriously, with the low water and warm weather I do believe the bite will be turning on earlier than ever, especially if we get a little warm rain.

    I hate commitments.

Besides, I’ve been on this Merry-Go-Round once or twice before.

Go fishing when I should be getting something else ready, then when I need it…it’s not ready.

There’s only so much time in a winter don’tchasee.

I told Michelle this morning, it’s going to be 77 today! Her reply?

Good, you can clean out the garage and start pulling out the Patty O’furniture.

Oh, you are new here. Welcome aboard.

The joke that Brian is referring too is some people will claim wintering cats aren’t being snagged because the hook is in the mouth. The problem with that logic being that flatheads have an underbite. And flatheads don’t move much in the winter and have no reason to eat because their metabolism is so low.

Generally flatheads don’t get active until the river hits 55. However there are legit catches of flatheads by walleye guys this time of year when the water is below 55. So if you want to catch a flathead this time of year…fish for sauger and walleye.

The water temp on the Fox two days ago was 58 degrees and we have had two 80 degree days since, I think I’m going flatheading this weekend! Never thought I would say those words in March as my earliest flathead was in mid April, but I hope to change that soon.

Well, it wasn’t a monster, but last night we did catch a flathead. Only went 28.5″, but that is about average here on the Fox.

Sorry BK no pics. My buddies and I aren not as photogenic as you are. I rarely even have a camera with me.

The water temp was at 64. On a side note my boat was getting battered by the waves as I was heading out and my richter anchor snapped my anchor line on my way out ! Let that be a lesson to check your anchor line for frays as you would your fishing line.

There, now that you have that out of the way, the rest of the year you won’t have any problems. LOL!

    Photogenic? That matters??
