Fished the FYB and walleyes were extremely slow for us but my team mate Jake happens to hook this Sturgeon in the tip of the tail while we were dragging upstream at about .5mph in 10 FOW.

Luckly fishing was slow and it took 2 hours to pull this fish backwards through the water up to the surface for a quick hand land, photos, measure, and weight it in a sling.

Was his first Sturgeon at 61″ and 47 pounds 12 ounces. Who says you can not catch a Sturgeon on a ringworm???

That was a spectacular thing to see. We also had absolutely no luck with the walleyes so we decided to sit and watch the battle for almost an hour. Great catch and great release. Way to go boys. As soon as I can I will post the pic of the side imaging photo that I captured while watching. By the pics you can tell that it was a vary large fish.

    Hey Jake

That was a great job of hauling the beast in on 6 lbs Mono, very impressive.

That’s an impressive sturgeon anytime, and to get it on 6 lb line. Wow!
