Still alive…

Hey everyone, just thought I’d post a note… it’s been so long, and my fishing year sucked so bad, it’s hard to think about. I think I made it out a total of 5 times. TOTAL! I only got the ‘toon out once!!!!

Our kid is 3 and my wife has debilitating chronic Lyme disease that’s been getting worse and worse for years… she started treatment for it last fall (Sept 2010) and for a while it gets worse as the Lyme critters start to die off. It’s like chemo for cancer… it makes you sick as all heck with the hope that in the long run it’ll make you better than you were before.

So her sickness coupled with having a 3 year old and trying to maintain a career killed my fishing season almost entirely. Life has been a long series of dashing around in circles just trying to keep up. Think not quite as intense (but close to it) as single parenthood combined with nursing a sick person…

I kinda feel guilting for ditching this site and the friends I’d made, but to be honest reading about everyone’s fishing just got to be painful when I couldn’t play too.

Hopefully things will improve for the 2012 fishing year and I’ll be able to get out at least a little… I mean anything has to be better than 2011 was.

Hey Jared! Glad to see you’re alive, sorry to hear of the challenges. You know if we would have boated a 40+, you would have been on the picture mail address list.

Thanks dude. Yeah, having landed a 43# flattie the first night in my boat, my quest for upgrading my PB flathead is going to be long and challenging. Especially when I’m only fishing from shore 5 times a season.

And heck yeah, I expect to see the pics if you pull that off!

I’m contemplating a trip to pool 4 one of these days… with the year being this warm I keep thinking it might be a good idea to make up for a little of the lost time.
