Flatheads on the mind

As I sit back to watch what’s going on on the “tube” in the world of flathead fishing/noodling…I can’t help but wonder if the weight of a flathead grows compared to it’s size the further South a person is?

I feel I’m a pretty good judge of a flatheads weight in photo. Yeah, sometime the camera plays tricks.

I’m thinking the girl is closer to 64 pounds than this flat…am I wrong?

Because they are too busy dating their brother.

I think a better question is:

    Is that fish even alive?

My guess would be that it is quite a bit smaller than that. Wouldn’t mind seeing it at the end of my line though. On the Fox we don’t get too many fish that get much bigger than that.

    Good point Doc!

Another question that doesn’t relate totally to this show…

As a viewer do you care if they say the size of the fish?

I’m just thinking of a number of catfish videos and one bass show in particular. When they over state the size of the fish it seems to distract from the highlight of the actual catch.

So, do you like hearing the size or would it be better to just not talk about it and let the viewer pick his/her own number?

    Pug stikes again…classic.

I don’t know how many people in Illinois are doing that (noodling, hogging, hand fishing whatever you want to call it). I can’t tell you there’s a 100% chance I would never do it. I’d like to keep my fingers and toes (and other appendages) in tact!
