Looks like it wasn’t even full dark yet (I was peeking under the black curtain). Nice to get into them early!

Until water temps on the lakes drop I’ll be soaking bullies waiting for boat shaking hits on the sota. Next week looks good to me

Robby, nice fish. What river you fish again? From the pictures I have seen over the years, that looks like a cool body of water. Is it a relatively narrow river?

Crappy work edit! But, hey, Phigs knows every spot so I had to mark it up

10 fish in the boat last night – 6 flats 4 channels. This flat ran 38×23!

What is 38×23? Very nice Monster!

I fish several lakes in Eastern Ohio. Several are
    Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District lakes
    built for flood control.
I fish several rivers also but the larger
fish seem to come from the lakes.

38″ in length, 23 inches in girth.

Not everyone uses weight to judge the size of a fish. Personally I prefer to take all 3.

I thought he fished a lake?

LOL, my memory is not that good. Not sure why I thought he fished a river. I know I have seen several photos of him over the years.

    Moxie

That fish took a bluegill set in 7-8 foot of water.
I have the impression that she was headed shallower
to take advantage of muddy water. We had a flash
flood earlier in the day that raised the lake level
1 1/2 foot in a matter of hours.

    56 pound female caught 7-27-2012
This fished released to grow, spawn, and possibly fight again.

It took me a long time to get into quality fish this year but at least they started coming.

My buddy Chad has been calling me daily trying to get him out – first time flat head guy as well (first flat ever!)

We got out about 7:00 PM last night on p2 and worked our butt off for this fish. 7 spots – 3 new and 1 new personal best for my boat and for my buddy chad.

It hit a cut sucker at midnight and just went screaming, a little pole hand off and he was in for the fight of his life.

She measured at 48×28 which calculates to 50.5 on the conversion chart. Chad is 6’3” 210 for comparision

    Nice fish Chad!!!

Nice, fish. That’s the first 50 pounder I’ve seen intentionally caught in Minnesota on any of the forums I visit in quite some time. There have been a couple caught by walleye guys though Any Robbie gets them in Ohio but he calls those one “little guys” I think.

Great fish! This poor guy will more than likely be waiting a while to top that one. This flatheading thing is easy!
