Nice! No wonder I didn’t get a Slotomania request last night.

Ta Da! my first Sturgeon. coolest catch of the year for me. gave me a battle of a lifetime then when I got her/him in the boat it was the most calm, docile, beautiful fish.

    I wanna do it again…

Amazing double last night! We both thought we had caught the same fish, until mine started peeling to the front of the boat and Robs started peeling to the back.

56×19 was mine and 52×20 was Robs both at the same time!

Measured on a musky bump board. Measured 48″ without pinching tail down. My “first 48-50inch sturgeon” thank you my years best catch. Hi-5’s all over the place. Wow I couldn’t imagine one of those 65″ers. Gonna try for that for sure.

Forgot to post this in the thread… from a St. Croix trip on 9/9/12.

46×16 for 16 lbs out of 25-30 FOW on crawlers. Hooked 2 that night, only one made it into the boat. Saw the other one, it was about 36″, smaller than the one we boated… but it fought 10 times harder…

Lost it due to a combination of aft anchor rope, bow anchor rope and operator error.

Oh well… at least we saw the fish AND we boated the big one. For once it was the little one that got away!

Here is my first 60″ sturgeon out of the croix. This one came earlier this season.

Is the rod in the first pic an Ugly Stik Tiger rod? If so, how did it fare against big sturgeon. Sadly mine went did not get tested this year

Why, yes it is. I have a pair that I have been using for 5 years or so. You can really put the coals to the larger fish, but they don’t like that a whole lot and either rip off 100 plus feet of line or jump.
