Warden Ashton had an illegal sturgeon case settled that he and warden Hagen had from the spring. The subject pleaded guilty to possessing a game fish during the closed season, was fined $1,147, and had his privileges revoked for three years.

Wardens Hagen, of Spooner, and Dorn, of Cumberland, were patrolling Bear Lake when they observed what appeared to be a young child operating a tiller motorboat at plane speed. They made contact and discovered the child was 4 years old. The adult was sitting in the middle seat. The boat was not registered and there were not enough PFDs aboard. The adult was issued a citation for failing to provide the proper number of PFDs and was warned for the other violations.

After seeing the sturgeon report, I noticed the 4 year old. Thought it was interesting.
