The client of a local P4 walleye sauger guide.

I’m not sure what color or size rapala this 54 pounder was caught on…heck it could have been a moxie.

    Awesome fish Mr. Marty Hahn!

Is that the best way to hold a big fish like that?

Damn impressive. I’ve been close, but still really hoping to get my hands on one like that!

Awesome fish! I’ve spent a lot of time targeting fish like that yet don’t have anything to show for it, not that size anyway. Lucky dog!

I didn’t say anything about your daughter. That is one heck of a fish but if you are fishing for baitfish and get one by accident, I applaud you for being able to land such a beautiful specimen on light tackle. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while. It is a much greater challenge to target them and hit paydirt is all I am saying.

Thanks for posting the picture BK. You got it pretty close. Bule jointed #5 rap was the bait of choice. Sucked completely down that huge throat but came out easily with no damage to the fish.
These do take a little time to land but well worth it in my eyes. Always fun to watch peoples faces when these things finally surface after a long battle.

As a much younger man I did pursue these fish with the same fire as I do now with walleyes. I still marvel at their power and on the right day would even go chase one intentionally.

I’ve included another accident from last Saturday although only half the fish of the first. 26#s Bucktail and a minnow this time.

    Thanks for the posts guys.
