Looking at the weather today up to 5:30, the storms were tracking to the North of the Metro area. Looking good I thought although the weatherman said Thursday morning it was going to be dry until Sunday late night…

I figured we would just keep an eye on the weather via cell phone, marine radio and the Sirrius In-Land Marine package one the GPS.

I checked the weather again before we left at 7…still ok.

15 minutes later the Lowrance was Beeping a warning to check the “weather watch box”. Sure nuff, the lightening strikes and storm direction wrapped further South and was tracking our direction.

I was happy to hear Professional Bass Anger Kirt Headquist say, it looks like we should try another night.

Just back to the resort with the boat on the trailer and the wind picks up, it cools off…and nothing. 45 minutes later we were having a nice summer time electrical down pour!

Kirt, I think you should give up bass fishing and get a weather forecasting job!

I’ve seen a number of other cat guys on line tonight too. Looks like clear skys now..at 10:30…

    Ready to go Kirt!?

Looks like that line messed up early night cat fishing all the way to Des Moines!

On my way . It rained cats and bass on the way home and the wind was impressive.

They’re reporting a 30 degree drop in temps.

We’re lucky there wasn’t any funnels.

    No rain until Monday…late. ()

I’m keeping my rain gear handy.

Next time Jocob’s rod gets bit, keep your hands to yourself.

    What happened?

Had some big flashes of lightning and a little wind. I’ve tried to go out in stormy weather and all I ever got was hail damage on the wife’s car. One river is really high and another one dropped like 3′ today but still a few feet high. And the crowds to look forward to. Hold me back!

Stayed on the water just a little too long as well. Just made it to shore…about 15 minutes after the light rain fell

Got back to the Cabin, and found out we had no power. We did get power back Saturday about 4 pm. Beautiful weekend, but that did throw a kink into things.
