To be thinking of the weekend yet?

By the forecast, it looks like what I fondly call

    FLATHEAD WEATHER!!

High 60’s at night for the rest of the week!!

Get that water back up in the 70’s where it belongs!

Thursday thru Saturday with guests…with a cancellation on Sunday which I’m trying to convince the Favorite Daughter to come back out with her gloves.

I’m going to bet the 4th is going to be a Fiber and Secret 7 holiday…maybe watch the fireworks with the stink out.

All I have to say about that is

Between the water level and Michelle’s cast time I won’t be seeing any flatheads until the Week of the 17th

Mossy, it would have been faster to click on “quote” then “reply”…you wouldn’t have to c & p.

See, learning more in the catfish forum by accident than other places by design.

I’ll be out Friday night. 90 degrees during the day will raise the water temps a few degrees at least and fish might just get aggressive. I might even give the fiber a try myself. If I can get 1 more big girl to dance I’d be happy. I need a 33×19 to be tied for first in the KOTC and I saw two fish of those dimensions last weekend.

My first thoughts without using it yet is that you don’t get very much of it. I can get a big bucket of Sonny’s for one tiny tub of fiber. I’m also not so sure about using my standard dip tubes for this stuff. I think the fish will like it. Part of my presentation is to get a lot of scent in the area so current draws fish to me. I don’t know if I will get the slick I like to see the same way.

Tubes work fine. I would prefer to use just the treble if I could.

I know, most will say circles are better but the guys down south will say that a #6 treble will deeply hook a channel less than a circle. If they are legal to use of course.

Is it ok to catfish out of a large walleye boat.

Image is everything when it comes to catfishing

Walleye boats are fine for catfishing as long as you don’t have carpet in them. The added thing is you have to change your expectations a bit because once you set hook into a big cat, walleyes are kind of like fishing bluegills on a snoopy rod. Easy to catch and not much fight to them. I do enjoy walleye fishing as I like to eat them and to outfish my walleye purist friends from my dinky little cat rigged duck boat. I might be wrong but I think the famous guide Brian something or other uses a walleye shaped boat for catfishing.

With all the cat slime and cottonwood seeds, couldn’t prove there was carpeting in it.

    …’least it’s not fiberglass.
