I don’t see any reference to Wisconsin in this article. I only glanced at it. Perhaps it would be legal in Minnesota if you only had one arm or tied some kind of spinner blade to your wrist?

Now that’s down right funny right there…in a sad way.

The Wall Street Journal publishes an article bashing hillbillies in Texas and you get a Wisconsin connection? Believe me I’m watching the state senate here like a hawk and they are not discussing catfishing by hand here. Many other odd and unfortunate things but not noodling.

I need to read more carefully!

I thought it was the WI Journal Sentinel…

and when it came to the portion stating…

    Quote:

The bill swam easily through the state house, but now rod-and-reel anglers are speaking up against the proposed law, currently in the state Senate.

I would have thought the references to TX MIGHT have tipped me off. Although with WI’s liberal limits on cats…it wasn’t hard to make the switch.

Bottom line, I’m not a fan of noodling. Mostly because it’s pulling the fish off it’s nest and thus killing the off spring. Noodlers seldom talk about that.

I’m not a fan of it either. Really there are not many places you could actually do it here in Wisconsin unless you had a death wish. They had a couple of guys on Swamp People doing it last night. What a couple of panzies. Oh my poor raw arm and hand. They only had one fish that was decent sized. The whole thing looked staged to me.

There is more bottom line. The way they catch the big fish is by sinking boxes. They don’t talk about that much in the footage but in some of the videos you see guys that carry sticks. There is a hole through the box where they put the stick through to trap the fish in the box. It really isn’t a man vs fish fairchase kind of game.

p.s. I’m starting a petition to allow bowfishing for muskies.

You don’t really want to pi$$ off the Muskie guys do you? If I was you I’d try to do something about guys keeping a pile of huge egg ladien flats in the spring. Oh but that will never hurt the fishery rite ?

    Rut Roe!

It’s 1:48 and today is Friday. Might be the only dry evening of the weekend.

Saddle up the bullies! I’m riding high tonight!

…well not that kind of HIGH!

Is that really needed to say like that?

We all share the water and we might catch too many walleyes if we use 2 lines chasing Cats.

Replace noodling with Iowa spring cat fishing and what I said is the same. I just called out a guy that sees nothing wrong with killing tens of thousands of potential flats. But hey I’m just a Muskie guy and I must have my C&R goggles on too tight today?

I understand Tim As I am not a fan of bowfishing. I keep very few fish through the year but I keep what will be eaten. I just wasn’t a fan of such a personal “jab.” Oh and I am not such a fan of noodling either.

I am a multispecies angler and people think I am a nut. Hell I catch golden shiners for fun!

I keep and eat A LOT of fish but I’ve got limits on how big they can be. I reread my op and the personal jab was uncalled for.
