I’ve had that happen too.
Seems like in the soft tissue at the corners there’s a spot where they’ll bleed.

light one was 32lb and the dark one was 28lb. caught them right in a row while fishing by myself. got the heart beating a little bit. practically had to throw one in the boat so I could grab my other rod. good times.

September 13, 2011 at 7:38 pm #994608yeah just a little bit bigger than the largest flathead i’ve caught so i’m going to be hearing about it for a while. she did a really good job, didn’t have to help her once. just a little bit of coaching when the fish swam toward the boat and she thought she lost it.
my favorite spot is finally fishable again so hopefully i’ll get to catch a big one too
