Got this bad boy on the last crawler of the night. It hit on the cast, before the crawler even hit bottom. Man what a fight. It tried to dog into a rocky area with a huge log but after 10 minutes I got it to the sandy shore to beach it. Fishing alone it was hard to take a photo. I guessed the length to be maybe 38″ or so. Felt like 25-30 lbs, but that’s a guess. Any ideas on weight? Thanks!

I would say 20 to 25 lbs…I might be way off however. BK will help you out!

For the first upper Mississippi Flathead photo of the year…

    25-30 sounds good to me!

Pretty hard to guess without something else in the photo to gauge it by.

    I’m still liking the 25 to 30!

What a way to end the evening huh?

    I was close
Those whiskered critters get in the way almost as much as sheepshead sometimes

Thanks fellas. There’s two 1.5 oz egg sinkers right above its head… that’s about all I can offer for reference!

Nothing better than a flathead fighht. Sure beats those other bottom feeders they call a eye.
