After my first trip to the Rainy River Sturgeon Excursion, and my first close encounter with a sturgeon, I am wondering if fishing them at night is a good option.
They seemed to have the same type of eyes as a Walleye.

I prefer to fish them in the evening in the fall mostly because of less boat traffic on the Croix but also it increases the chance of a flathead.
The folks I’ve talked with that have fished at night on the Rainy/LOTW’s haven’t reported better luck than the daytime fishermen and since we’re up in April, the nights are pretty chilly.
