Spent Thur, Fri & Sat fishing 4 mile Bay. Thur was a sunny, beautiful day with nine sturgeon and 3 over 55″. Not bad for three Sturgeon virgins. As the weather cooled off and the sun disappeared Friday we were only able to land three but again one at 55″. Sat found three inches of snow and a cold North wind at 20 – 25 MPH. We gutted it out till about 3 pm with three caught in the am with another 55″. We had 16 total with 6 over 50″ and were absolutly thrilled. We were told not to be discouraged by the miserable year but we had an absolute blast. The conditions may not have been what we hoped but the feeling of a 40 lb sturgeon on your line was unbelievable especially since none of us had any previous sturgeon experience. Our fish were caught in 18 – 24′ with 4 to 8 oz weight. Good luck

I would say buy the way you are holding those fish you have done this before.

Isn’t the sturgeon dance everything it’s said to be?

I bet it wasn’t you guys leading!

    Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. I give you guys credit for toughing it out on Saturday. I hear guys where having snowball fights and building snowmen in there boats out in 4 mile bay that day.

I agree she was a bit tough on Saturday but fishable. Saturday evening right before the snow started it was not too bad.

Yes there was a snowball fight between a couple boats.

Yeah that was us. We dropped anchor on Sat at about 8am and didn’t pull it until 7pm. That was a long day, but I think we caught 7 or 8 (mostly all right away in the morning).

Here’s a short vid I put together of our trip (including the snowballs. )
