    Hey, Shumpy – Are you fishing for channels? What are you getting them on? Were they hitting the bait hard? Can you give me an inkle on what you were doing when you got the channels? I may have to pull my boat out of storage and go cattin!! This time of year I don’t expect to see an aggressive channel bite but you may be on to something here. I got the bug bad or as BrianK would say, “I got the bad bug!”

    Actually i guess i should have been more clear. The smaller fish was caught springtime 2002, i think May. The fatter one was caught in august 2002. Sorry for any misinformation. I just wanted to share the photos. The smaller fish was caught on a plain jig and minnow, the fatter one was caught on a sucker.

    Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, I thought it was from this spring. I should have known better – the one pic has you in shirtsleeves. It is a little early to start chasing channels although I have seen a pic or two from some picked up in Pool 2. After the weather this weekend I am straining at the leash. I guess I can wait a little while longer.

    I cant either. Last summer i saw a CHANNEL floating dead through downtown saint paul that was GIGANTIC. At first i thought it was a flathead, but i took a closer look and realized it was a channel. Scary
