just returned from pulling some wiskered critters through an eight inch hole in the ice today. felt good to see them again. its been awhile. action was slow, but they still pulled good

Hey Bigtime! What kind of tackle are you using to get your cats? I know guys are using bigger jigs and jigging spoons w/cutbait, but I’ve been having better luck with smaller crappie jigs and minnow heads. I was up about a week ago, but the ice was a little thin so I couldn’t get out to the usual spots. Did you catch any crappies or walleyes? Thanks, Vern

I was using 1/4 ounce jigs w/ cutbait. All we caught were cats. Later in the winter we start catching some walleyes (roughfish), but not now where we are fishing

We pulled six up. They were on the vexilar all night but still kinda slow to bite. I think that it will only get better. Have fun in mexico.
