St Croix – 9 September

Was out last night from 6:00pm to 1030pm. Nice night again with a little breeze. No luck at all on cats. Did catch a northern on cut bait at about 6:30. Had a couple of clicker runs on the cut bait but couldn’t connect. Twins lost – pitching sucks so does my catfishing!! Gotta have Patience I guess.

I had better luck fishing for bullheads today. My bullhead lake was hot for crappies. I have a spot that is good for bullheads but today I got a bonus of 15 nice crappies while catching 11 bullheads. I had to catch the crappies first, they were real aggressive and beat the bullheads to the bait. I let them all go but they were nice big crappies.

Hi Pup – He was hooked real bad. I ended up cutting the line and leaving the hook but he looked in pretty rough shape when I released him. I revived him enough to swim off but he was bleeding bad. I had on heavy work gloves but his teeth still did a number on me. My hands look like they went through a meat grinder today.

I hear ya! My left thumb is just healing from an outing with Don Hanson a couple weeks back. From a pike that is, not Don! I mean, I didn’t bring him any donuts this time but he didn’t……………………….well………………..nevermind…………..

Ahh, fishing and baseball… aint life grand!
