Can you use bluegills on the Wisconsin river for bait?

How do you usually hook them when you use them?

Any tips on depth of water ect? I will be up this weekend on the wisconsin river.

Should I look for deeper holes above snags?

Thanks for any of your help..

Bluegills are legal to use in Wisconsin. They count against your daily bag limit of 25. The Wisconsin River is very low right now. Any deep holes you can find should hold fish. Hook them right behind the dorsal fin above the backbone.
