Hello Everyone, I am not looking for honey holes, just wondering about shore fishing opportunities for some channels around the cottage grove and hastings area? Any ideas, thanks?

One area you could try is the rip-rap bank off the road that leads up to the lock and dam in Hastings.

Wade, it has been a few years, but I used to park at the dam in hastings and walk the bike path back to the dike that seperates rebecca and spring lake. Fish the spring lake side with cutbait, crawlers, livers or stinkbait.Keep moving along the shore and you should have no problem finding some very nice channels

you can also make the road trip down hwy-52. Take the exit in Hampton and go down hwy-56. About 1/2 mile south of Randolph is the Cannon River at the head of Byllesby. Fish under the bridge. As a kid, we use to catch a bunch of channels there on a crawler.

Also, to the north of the Dakota County Beach on Byllesby, where the old public access used to be, channels can be caught there too.

Never got anything “huge”, but they are there.
