Can you help me with and approximate weight?? 43″ long and very big around. Do you have any advise on how to keep these pesky little creatures off of my plug, James said you’ve been good at keeping them off your line lately…… Every time I catch one these guys my plugs seem to run funny afterward…..usually I have to toss them away.
This little piggy pulled us around the river for about 30 minutes before we corralled her in. What a magnificent display of pure power!!!! It was a blast. I’ll post a couple pic’s…..You guys were right you can’t hold your arms out and it’s very hard to smile when being photographed. I did my best to smile and believe me I was smiling watching my buddy work over his 8’6″ medium light action walleye rod with this fish….If I had to guess I’d have to say it was close to fifty pounds???? Maybe you cat guess can give me a better idea……my walleye scale only goes to 15 pounds.

Id say easily 40#. Just look at that gut! It is huge and not even being pushed on. Great catch!

    What he said!

I would agree its about a 40# fish… trust me, if it was actually a 50# fish, you would have swore it was 60#+.. The girth gets outragous on flats of that size.

    That’s funny!

I would guess in the high 30’s to low 40’s too. But contrary to what my FW says…in fishing, when it’s too big for your scale….(even if it’s a little scale) size doesn’t matter…it’s the fun you had.

Everyone remembers their biggest walleye…but when it comes to cats, each one creates a new memory.

PS Lenny will be giving a seminar on Trophy Flathead fishing with cranks.
